The Chamber's vision is to be the primary resource and support of area economic development and quality of life. Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce's (SKCC) annual fundraiser, The Gala Dinner and Auction, helps make that vision a reality.

The Christmas in July Gala is the premier social event of the season in Spring-Klein and is a festive evening of philanthropy, fine food, and fun, and a celebration of SKCC's commitment to excellence and community. Imagine!--a gala dinner and auction--is SKCC's largest fundraiser. It is always a sell-out.

Rejoice with us and take pleasure in a sumptuous evening basking in the festively adorned Shady Oaks, feasting on a sumptuous buffet featuring traditional Christmas Carvery, dancing to the live music from Braid. Businesses and individuals donate generously to the live auction hosted by the funny and charming Mark Moore, TAL#15019 offering an array of special experiences- trips, dinners, and unique events and items. On auction night, 150 attendees-dressed to the nines-engage in friendly competitive bidding. The event is conceived and run by an extraordinary cadre of volunteers whose dedicated support for the Chamber's business, education programs infuses the evening with a wonderful spirit of philanthropy and community.

Spring, TX - June 19, 2008 - ExploreSpring.com announces date for 1^st "Christmas Photo Contest" - December 1, 2008. Do you think your house has the best decorations or prettiest tree? Are you known in your neighborhood for your decked-out Christmas trees? Do people drive by your house just to see your yard decorations? Do you dress up as Santa, an elf, an angel or snowman to perk up your holiday celebration? Do you have an adorable Christmas photo of a family member?

If you do, why not send in your photo? (U.S. and Canadian entries accepted.) Put your picture taking to the test and send in your best Christmas photo.

Simply logon on to www.explorespring.com and upload your photo between December 1 and December 31, 2008. The contest is run completely online. All of the entries we receive are voted on by our site viewers. The top vote getter as of 6:00 p.m. December 31, 2008 wins the prize. Entries and voting will continue the entire month. Spring Texas Opens Fine Arts Museum—Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is the only fine arts museum outside of the Houston Museum District. In a three-year partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, (MFAH) the Pearl will bring a series of exhibitions from the MFAH permanent collection and affiliated institutions to Northwest Harris County. Its inaugural exhibition is Frederic Remington and the American West: Selections from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and will be displayed through July 3, 2008. This exhibition, as a part of MFAH Outreach Programs, is supported by the Hamill Foundation.

 

Spring Texas first Fine Arts Museum is the result of a thirteen year effort of Clara Lewis and Rev. Glenn Wilkerson. Named for their mother Pearl, the museum is a smaller scale version of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. While independent of the MFAH, the two museums have a strategic cooperative relationship which is certain to benefit the residents of Spring Texas.

 

Adding to Spring's already rich heritage, and diverse culture, the museum is a wonderful addition to the many parks, Barbara Bush Library, Cypress Creek Community Center, The Centrum performance hall, and Old Town Spring Museum.

 

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is located at 6815 Cypresswood, Spring TX 77379. They are open Sunday noon to 5 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday 10 am to 8 pm, Friday 10 am to 6 pm, and closed on Monday.
